Additionally, it is a mere 20 minutes drive to the heart of Kuala Lumpur – city
centre, and 30 minutes drive from KLIA (International Airport), making PGGC the
nearest golf course to and from the airport. This is ideal for travelers who
would like to play on the day of departure - without worrying too much about
missing flights.
The club embarked on a major exercise in 2009 which entails a complete redesign
and rebuilding of this brand new 18 holes course which was opened for play in
April, 2012.
Talented Australian course architect Ted Parslow, has incorporated interesting
aspects of the landscape for a course that is set to be exciting as well as
enchanting. The greens are carpeted with Bermuda Tifdwarf, while the tee boxes
and fairways are planted with Hybrid Zoysia. The feature of this crown jewel is
its numerous “trade-mark” high lipped bunkers and challenging greens with
average speed of 10.5’ on the stimp meter.
The unique two tier drink hut which is strategically located in the heart of
the course offers breathtaking views of the course and the surrounding
wetlands.
The
new course is complemented by a Mediterranean styled clubhouse adjoining the
recreational facilities section, which comprises an Infiniti, Jacuzzi and
wading pools, mini gymnasium, tennis court and sauna. The R5ve Café offers a
panoramic and breathtaking view of the course while diners enjoy a delectable
selection of local and western cuisines.
The 18th hole with its peninsula green will be a memorable closing hole. The
tee shot plays downhill on this long scenic par 4 with strong winds dictating
the outcome with water coming into play from the left fairway. A brave approach
shot to the peninsula green will separate the men from the boys.
