One of the best course in the Northern Region of Peninsular
Malaysia and is only a mere 45 minutes drive from the Penang International Air
Port. Bukit Jawi Golf Resort offers two 18-hole par 72 championship courses,
the Hill Course and the Lake course. The Hill course undulating fairways,
coupled with pleasant lines of palm trees and tricky greens presents a
challenge to every aspect of the golfer’s game. The Lake course measures 6,164
meters and is beautifully maintained. You will encounter an abundance of water
hazards in various shapes and sizes on most holes and if you managed to avoid
them then the positioning of the numerous sand bunkers is there to catch the wayward
shot. Other facilities include a driving range, 66 hotel rooms with all modern
facilities, swimming pool, gym, restaurant, tennis court and indoor badminton
court.
At the 2016 Golf Magazine Course Poll, Bukit Jawi Golf
Resort’s Hill Course was voted as the top 11 golf course in Malaysia. Other
accolade includes one of the Top 20 golf courses in Malaysia at the 2010-2012
Golf Malaysia Course Poll; The 5th Best Golf Course, along with the 6th Most
Memorable Golf Course and 3rd Most difficult Golf Course in Malaysia by The
Stars, Punch Shot.
Signature Hole: Lake 15th, Par 3
A mesmerizing 165 meters, par-3 that requires pin-point
accuracy as the target is a pretty island green. There is no room for error, as
tee shots need to be well-struck to carry water but must also be straight to
avoid veering to either side and winding up in a watery grave. Should the tee
shot land on the green with a strong roll, then there is a bunker at the rear
to save it from rolling into the water. This hole was voted as the 4th most
difficult hole in Malaysia by the 2010-2012 Golf Malaysia Course Poll.
Signature Hole: Hill 9th, Par 5
The longest hole on the Hill course is the index 5 Hole No.
9. With a distance of 540m, it has a dog-leg to the left. Hidden from the tee
is a large pond that needs to be crossed. It is near impossible for the average
player to cross the hole’s expanse of water in two shots, thus very long third
shots are the norm into a green that has more water in the form of a much
smaller pond to its right.
